LEAP is the new project from London-based troubadour Jack Balfour Scott. Formerly of acclaimed “boundary breaking indie-rock” outfit and Capitol Records signees The Mispers, who ended their run of success in 2018 after gaining a fanatic cult following from their electrifying and somewhat unpredictable live shows, with POPPED Music describing the artist as “the frontman that every singer wants to be”.
Born and raised between Edinburgh and Cape Town, as well as studying at music school in Brighton, Jack’s internationally diverse background has now bled into the music he creates with the band – an eclectic mix of rock n roll misfits…
LEAP is a plethora of rock and roll-induced extremes; a supersonic dance through the depths of Jacky’s twisted and brilliant mind. Combining indie grunge, heavy beats, and the odd sprinkle of electronica, Jacky’s unique vocals take you on a journey through London’s underbelly and his own struggles with mental health.
Having sold out their debut headline show at Omeara Feb 2020 (1 week before lockdown) 2022 sees LEAP step up and out of the world of DIY releasing into a more ambitious, more refined sonic palette where they can comfortably compete with the biggest indie-rock acts around. Inspired by the likes of Fontaines DC, 21 Pilots and Yungblud, the debut EP One Million Pieces dropped in June alongside a sold out show at The Victoria and European festivals. Latest single Show Me The Way You Love dropped Nov 29th alongside a sold out show at Colours, Hoxton. With a month-long EU tour in the spring and new music, LEAP are cementing their status as one of the most exciting up-and-coming acts in the capital.
