CRAVING
North German Metal Band CRAVING was formed as EREBOS in August 2005 by Ivan Chertov, Lukas Winkler, Johannes Paetzholt and Lutz Pohlabeln. The Band changed their name in 2006, released a Demo and started to play live. After some line-up changes, a self-released EP, a sampler contribution and dozens of live concerts, CRAVING went on to record their self-titled debut album and inked a deal with Apostasy Records. „Craving“ was released in January 2012 and was well-acclaimed by both press and fans.
The Album was recorded by Lars Schlüter (THE FLAW) in Alpha Sound Studios in Dortmund, Germany and mixed and mastered by Sebastian Levermann (ORDEN OGAN). It featured guest appearances by Chilenian guitar prodigy Sole Genua as well as german Pagan Metal-legend Helge Stang (ARAFEL, ex-EQUILIBRIUM). Soon after release, the Band started to work on their sophomore album. „At Dawn“ was recorded and produced in the band’s own studio. Mix and mastering was handled by Christoph Brandes (NECROPHAGIST, FINSTERFORST, DEADBORN, SPHERON).
The album features guest appearances by several renowned musicians such as Chris Caffery (TRANS-SIBIREAN ORCHESTRA, ex-SAVATAGE), Agalaz (OBSCURITY) and Niels Löffler (ORDEN OGAN). Following the release in October 2013 via Apostasy Records, CRAVING went on their first European Tour with HELL:ON and SINFUL, making live appearances in Poland, Czech Republic, Germany and Belgium. The current line-up consists of the founding member Ivan Chertov as well as Thorsten Flecken, Leonid Rubinstein and Maik Schaffstädter.
