RICKY FABIAN – this guy is one of the most promising newcomers since years! Ricky Fabian has a tremendous voice no matter if he sings Rockers or ballads! Beside that he is a fantastic songwriter and 11 of the 12 songs were written by him and one by him and the members of the back-up band which is in my opinion the most professional backing band you can get in the nowadays! The sound of the Lightning Recording studio stands for itself and brings you the real 1950s sound without sounding trashy! Hats off to this album which is real pleasure to listen to! The real deal would be a vinyl album as well which would top everything and one thing is sure that guy would’ve earned it and it would be great to hear more from him in the future!
VINCE AND THE SUN BOPPERS – Hailing from one of the sunniest sites in Europe, and being inspired by the huge musical heritage of the famous Memphis label, this newly formed Italian four piece rockabilly band can be considered the ast addition to the rich Sicilian rockin’ scene, and although new, it includes some of the oldest hands of the genre around the southern border of Europe, as Vince Mannino, lead singer and guitar of the band has been the first one to pick straight authentic rockabilly in his homeland way back in the late seventies, when just a teenager. The rhythm and the sound of the Sun Boppers is filled up by Silvio Chiodo on acoustic guitar, one of the most complete local musicians, Frankie Ardito, cat-man to the bones, for anyone can sense it by the way this long tall man slaps his double bass, and last but not least, on drums John Ziino a real milestone of Italian rockin’ scene, fine record collector and well known rock’n’roll DJ. Their live shows are filled up with traditional sound and look and include many self-‐penned songs together with a blend of covers by obscure and well-‐known rockabilly heroes of the fifties. Vince and the Sun Boppers aim is having fun on stage and let their audience have a good time and enjoy their music!
WILD ROOSTER – This is a “Revival Rockabilly” band that’ll give you a 100 procent kick ass bad boy rock’n’roll, with their roots deep in the 50’s and modern sub culture music.
